What could be more exciting than a site on a hillside? Only the site on a forested slope.
The site has a rectangular shape, with the height difference of 7 meters from the up to the down, the house in modern style is angled on the site and covers a quite large construction area. During the constructions of the house was cut down a lot of trees caught in the development area, and the remaining trees by the request of the customers had to be preserved in full.
We had a very difficult task in designing this site – coming out of the house onto the summer terraces we had to deal with the fact that the existing ground level was two metres lower than the level of the terraces. We were able to relate the functional layout to the height of the trees. We integrated a large number of terraces at different levels and connected them by comfortable steps. Thus, we have managed to locate on the plot and a visually comfortable level lawn for children to play in the most open sunny place, a small fruit zone, a spacious fireplace for 10-12 people, children’s playground, two parking lots – the main for owners and another one for the staff, service and technical areas, an enclosure for a dog, and numerous compositions with deciduous and coniferous plants and perennial flowers.
We decided to retain the existing slope at the bottom of the site, as there were quite a lot of large trees growing. Under them, we also retained the existing ground cover, including forest berry shrubs. We completed all this with compositions of decorative vegetation. It was also decided to arrange a panda-city for children in this part of the site.
Minimalist design of the house, a regular-shaped site, and straight trunks of trees set the tone and mood of the structure of landscape solutions – it received a very clear, graphic, extremely laconic in its forms, and functional. Nothing unnecessary, each decision, each turn of the path, each step is justified and logical.
